In this unit students focus on multiliteracies and ways in which early childhood educators can support and extend young children's thinking and literacy learning. The contexts and impacts of popular culture and print and digital technologies are explored within the framework of home, culture and community and formal early learning contexts. Students will also focus on the importance of partnering with families and other educators to support early learning and to create optimal transitions between early childhood settings and to school.
